Are you thinking of running for Office? Whether you have announced you are running for office or considering running in an election this training is for you. Learn about what it takes to get elected and what it is like to serve in public office.  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 

Candidates who have announced they are seeking an elected office and individuals who are considering running in an election and would like to learn about what it takes to get elected and what it’s like to serve in public office.

9:30 – 11:30 Training 

11:30-12:15  Lunch

12:15 – 1:00  Panel of local and state elected officials 

1:00 – 3:00  Training  

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN? 

The Candidate Training Academy covers 7 strengths and skills important for successful campaigns. 

  • How to concisely articulate reasons for running 
  • How to plan and budget for a race 
  • What research is helpful for a campaign and how to get it done 
  • The need to leverage social media 
  • How to raise money, rules in place on what you can collect and how you can collect it 
  • How to ensure you have sufficient time and opportunity to make contact with voters 
  • How to get the vote out on election day 

This event sponsored by the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC, Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors, and North Dakota Association of Realtors.

The Candidate Training will be held at the North Dakota Heritage Center located at 612 E Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck, ND.
